On 29 June 2024, members of the Karnataka State Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) introduced leading Indian feed producers to Dr. Nicola Clark, Impact Manager at MarinTrust, during the International Shrimp Summit held in Chennai. The event provided an important platform for dialogue between global sustainability experts and India’s aquaculture industry.
Dr. Alluri Indra Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Avanti Feeds Limited, represented the Indian feed sector, engaging in discussions on responsible sourcing, sustainable feed production, and the broader role of feed manufacturers in supporting environmentally sound aquaculture practices. Dr. Nicola Clark shared insights on global sustainability standards, the impact of responsible sourcing on supply chains, and the objectives of the Fishery Improvement Project (FIP).
