FIP EXPANDS STAKEHOLDER NETWORK WITH FORM 3C SIGNING BY MAJOR FISHMEAL PRODUCERS

The Form 3C signing ceremony for the induction of new stakeholders into the Small Pelagic Purse Seine Fisheries – Karnataka State FIP was held on 02 December 2025 at the Corporate Office of Yashaswi Fish Meal and Oil Company, Udupi. The event marked a significant milestone in the continued growth and strengthening of the FIP, reflecting the expanding commitment of Karnataka’s fishmeal and fish oil sector toward sustainability, transparency, and responsible sourcing. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Udaya Kumar Salian, Lead of the Small Pelagic Purse Seine Fisheries FIP, in the presence of Steering Committee Members Mr. Yakub F. M. and Mr. Firoz T. S., along with existing stakeholder representatives from Yashaswi Fish Meal and Oil Company – Udupi and Yashaswi Fish Meal and Oil Company – Branch 2, Mangalore.

The occasion brought together several prominent industry leaders who formally joined the FIP as new stakeholders, strengthening collective responsibility across Karnataka’s pelagic fisheries value chain. The new signatories included Mr. Pramod Madhwaraj, Managing Partner, Raj Fishmeal and Oil Company – Unit II; Mr. Anand C. Kunder, Managing Partner, Janatha Fish Meal & Fish Oil Products; Mr. Rakshith, Partner, Janatha Fish Meal & Fish Oil Products; Mr. Mohammed Quresh, Director, Akash Fish Meal and Fish Oil Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Mohammed Shawkath Showry, Managing Director, Blue Line Foods (India) Pvt. Ltd. – Unit IV; and Mr. K. Mohammed Haris, Managing Director, Mukka Proteins Limited. Their participation reinforced the shared vision of advancing sustainable management practices, strengthening traceability, and promoting responsible utilization of small pelagic resources within the region.

The formal signing of Form 3C was successfully completed in the presence of all stakeholders, symbolizing their unified commitment to the objectives of the Karnataka State FIP. The completed and duly signed Form 3C has been officially submitted to MarinTrust for the inclusion of the newly joined companies under the scope of the Small Pelagic Purse Seine Fisheries – Karnataka State FIP. This expansion represents a major step forward in elevating the FIP’s impact, enhancing sector-wide collaboration, and ensuring that Karnataka’s pelagic fisheries continue progressing toward globally recognized standards of environmental and social responsibility. The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation of continued cooperation, collective accountability, and a shared dedication to long-term sustainability.
