Procuring fish exclusively from well-managed, traceable fisheries in line with FAO’s Code of Conduct.
Enforcing robust measures under the Marine Fisheries Regulation Act (MFRA) and Karnataka Marine Fishing Act to protect vital resources.
Deploying advanced monitoring and compliance systems to eliminate illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Conducting regular, independent stock assessments of target species by accredited scientists and sharing results transparently for informed decision-making.
Establishing structured measures to manage fishery interactions with Endangered, Threatened, and Protected (ETP) species.

The Karnataka Small Pelagic Purse Seine Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) has been accepted into the MarinTrust Improver Programme with commitments to:
Actively engage and collaborate with other regional FIPs on shared fish stocks to foster collective progress.
Share supply chain and species data as new research and stock assessments emerge.
Share comprehensive insights regarding any legislative restrictions for species use (State and National levels).
