On 13 January 2025, Yashaswi Fish Meal and Oil Company formalized a significant partnership with NITTE University by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening research and development initiatives. The collaboration is designed to enhance technical expertise, promote scientific innovation, and support sustainable growth within the fisheries and marine ingredients sector. This MoU marks an important step in integrating academic knowledge with industry-driven needs to advance responsible production and resource management.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar of NITTE (Deemed to be University), and Mr. Udaya Kumar Salian, Lead of the Small Pelagic Purse Seine Fisheries – Karnataka State FIP and Partner at Yashaswi Fish Meal and Oil Company, exchanged the formally signed documents. The event reflected a shared commitment to fostering meaningful research collaborations, particularly in areas related to marine biology, fisheries science, and technological advancement in fish meal and oil production.
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, PhD, JSPS Fellow, Professor & Director, and Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences at NITTE University, along with other distinguished faculty members and representatives from Yashaswi Fish Meal and Oil Company. Their presence highlighted the collective enthusiasm for this strategic partnership, which is expected to contribute to capacity building, scientific exploration, and innovative solutions benefiting both academia and the fisheries industry.
