Our FIP Earned Acceptance into the MarinTrust Improver Programme
We are thrilled to announce that the Small Pelagic Purse Seine Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) in Karnataka has been officially accepted into the MarinTrust Improver Programme as of March 20, 2024. This prestigious recognition positions us on the global stage as a leader in driving sustainable and responsible fisheries management.
With a clear roadmap ahead, we have five years to implement the Fishery Action Plan (FAP), delivering measurable, transformative improvements that align Karnataka’s fisheries with the highest international standards. Our mission is bold: to protect marine ecosystems, strengthen small pelagic fishery resources, and secure the livelihoods of local fishing communities.
This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, innovation, and collaboration. Together with key partners and stakeholders, we are determined to make a real and lasting impact—ensuring Karnataka’s fisheries thrive for generations to come.
